Ingredients

  • For the Club Sandwich:
  • 6 slices of sandwich bread toasted
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 4 oz sliced turkey breast
  • 2 oz sliced ham
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 2 slices of tomato
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter optional, for toasting
  • For the Fries:
  • 2 medium russet potatoes peeled and cut into fries
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: paprika garlic powder, or parmesan for seasoning

Instructions

  • Prep the fries: Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes, then drain and pat dry. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry potatoes in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels and season with salt and optional spices.
  • Toast the bread: Lightly butter and toast the sandwich bread slices until golden. Let cool slightly.
  • Assemble the sandwich:
  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toast.
  • Layer turkey and cheese on the first slice, then top with a second slice.
  • Add bacon, ham, tomato slices, and lettuce.
  • Finish with the third slice, mayo side down.
  • Secure and slice: Hold the sandwich firmly and insert toothpicks at each corner to keep it together. Slice diagonally into quarters.
  • Serve: Plate the sandwich quarters with a generous serving of fries. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce or pickle on the side.

Notes

  • Bread Tip: Use sturdy sandwich bread or Texas toast for best structure—thin slices can get soggy or fall apart under the layers.
  • Protein Swap: Substitute turkey and ham with grilled chicken, roast beef, or a plant-based deli alternative for dietary preferences.
  • Crispier Fries: Double-fry the potatoes—once at a lower temp (325°F) to cook through, then again at 375°F to crisp up.
  • Flavor Boost: Mix mayo with a pinch of garlic powder or Dijon mustard for a flavorful spread that enhances the sandwich.
  • Make It Healthier: Use whole grain bread, light mayo, and oven-baked fries to cut down on fat and calories without sacrificing flavor.
  • Meal Prep Tip: Cook bacon and slice meats ahead of time. Store them in the fridge so you can assemble the sandwich quickly on busy days.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with a dill pickle spear, coleslaw, or a light green salad to balance out the richness of the meal.
  • Kid-Friendly Version: Use soft bread, skip the tomato and lettuce, and cut the sandwich into fun shapes or smaller bites for easy eating.
